Hello, I’m Alette, your local city guide in Hoorn, monument of the Dutch Golden Age. I live in the center of Hoorn, together with my husband Jeroen and our son Viktor. Since 2012 I am city guide in Hoorn. I really enjoy showing people the most beautiful places in the city, and telling the stories Hoorn has to offer. I can guide you in English or Dutch. Als ik zelf een trip plan in een ander stad boek ik ook graag een tour bij If I plan a trip in another city I also like to book a tour with a local guide. Each guide has his or her own style. That also applies to me. I remember more if factual information is incorporated in a beautiful story. I try to do the same in my tours. In addition, I often combine the rich history with stories from the here and now.

My colleague guides
I’m not the only guide in Hoorn. I have several colleagues with whom I like to work. If you want to make a tour or city walk with more than 15 people, I can always hire a colleague so that we can split up the group. And sometimes it happens that I am not available myself. Local Guide Angelique
I am Angelique, born in Amsterdam but since 1997 living in Zwaag (a small village within the municipality of Hoorn). There I live with my husband and our son and daughter. Art and culture have had my interest from an early age.
That is why in I decided to follow my passion in 2012. Since then I have been organising guided tours and city walks through Hoorn. I have done various studies in the field of Art and History, and I graduated as an Art historian at the University of Amsterdam. I would like to take you on a city walk and tell you the special stories about the History of Hoorn.

Hello dear (future) visitor of Hoorn! I am Leo, your local city guide for Hoorn. Together with Alette I would like to welcome you in our beautiful city. About 35 years ago I came to live in Hoorn together with my wife and children.
Why did I choose to live in Hoorn? I like to tell you when I show you around and take you back to the history and stories from the rich past of Hoorn. I’m sure you’ll understand why we chose this city. I tell stories in English or Dutch. When will you come to visit Hoorn?
