Where to eat in Hoorn is quite a tricky question. There is more than enough choice for a drink, lunch and dinner. Which restaurant will suit you best depends on your personal preferences. To help you on your way I have made an overview of my personal favorites here:
De Oude Waegh
Lunch and drinks in the historic building De Oude Waegh. Historically good food and drink. You can also go here for a breakfast, this is a substantial breakfast for only 2.50 euros! Click for more info!
Food Drinks & Pleasure: De Tuynkamer
A great cozy and nice place to have lunch and dinner is the Tuynkamer, booking in advance can be very convenient! Dining is possible on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 17.30 hrs. Click for more info!
Atmospheric food in the harbour of Hoorn: Hendrickje Stoffels
Cooking, always but cooking. Chef Marko Pol even dreams culinary. Even when he’s not behind the stove, it does simmer in his head. In their restaurant Hendrickje Stoffels, all ideals in terms of taste and atmosphere come together for him and his hostess and partner Bianca Mens. For reservations: https://hendrickje-stoffels.
The most beautiful terrace of the harbour of Hoorn: ‘De Kade’
New in Hoorn since spring 2019: Restaurant ‘Aan de Kade’. This is really a wonderful place to sit on the terrace in sunny weather. It has a beautiful view of the ‘Hoofdtoren’ and the inner harbour. For lunch, dinner and a snack there is plenty of choice on the menu. A great place to start or end a city walk. More information: https://dekadehoorn.nl/
Cosy and close to the railway station Hoorn: ‘Bij Meta’
For the gourmets: Lucas Rive (Michelin star!)
